She's one of the inspirations for my own afro. I almost gave mine up last week. Had to cut an inch off of split ends after having it straightened. But I'm perservering because it grew alot in two years. I cut it all off into a Barack Obama fade now it's 12 inches on top. I think I've reached my average threshold, so I'm trying to push through. I'm letting it rest under a sewed in weave and hoping to let all my glory out again in the fall.
Originally I started this blog as a way to encourage light-skinned naturals since we often get told that we aren't dark enough to have natural hair. As I learned more, I realized that while I still want to encourage light-skinned girls I don't want to separate them from the rest of the natural community. I'm here to learn from, help, and encourage everyone.
